Senior Contract Administrator - Mission Bay (28536BR) - Under the general direction of the Director of Design & Construction,
the Sr. Contract Administrator – Mission Bay is responsible for the development, preparation, interpretation,
and processing of all consulting and construction contracts and managing the contract administration functions
for the Mission Bay Hospital project. This includes overseeing the day-to-day operations of the contract and
project management support staff and ensuring that all contracts are issued and administered according to UC
Policy and Procedures and all invoices are paid in accordance with the contract terms and conditions. The Sr.
Contract Administrator – Mission Bay is the main point person for Campus General Counsel, Office of the
President, UCSF Medical Center Finance and outside agencies with respect to contract administration policy
and procedures.
Senior Project Manager - Mission Bay (26874BR) - The Regents have authorized the Medical Center to embark
on an 8 year, $1.6 billion Capital Renewal Program for a new Mission Bay Campus. The new campus will include
a 600,000 gsf new 289 Bed Hospital for Cancer, Women’s and Children services, a 100,000gsf Ambulatory Care
Center and supporting Energy Center. The UCSF Department of Planning, Design and Construction has management
responsibility to ensure that the new Mission Bay Hospital project is completed by 6/2014 and within the
approved budget of $1.6 billion and in compliance with all public contracting laws and applicable regulatory
codes and licensing requirements.
Inspector of Record (25294BR) - The UCSF Medical Center, Department of Design and Construction is responsible
for providing comprehensive capital project delivery services to the inpatient, ambulatory and hospital
administrative units on the Parnassus, Mt. Zion and satellite campuses in SF. The current Capital Budget
(CIP) has 140 projects valued at $204 Million. The Regents have authorized the Medical Center to embark
on a 6 year, $275 Million Capital Renewal Program for the Mount Zion Campus – which will more than double
the size of the capital program. The MC Capital Project Management group has management responsibility to
assure projects are delivered on time and within budget, and responsibility to assure that the design
solutions are appropriate, the construction is in compliance with the Building Codes, that public contracting
laws are respected, safety of patients and staff is maintained, and that all furnishings, equipment,
IT support is in place and active when the project is delivered. All of this must be done with a minimum
of disruption to the clinical activities.
Associate Architect (24750BR) - Associate Architect develops project program and concept plans in consultation
with other Medical Center staff. S/he conducts project planning and review meetings with the client groups,
D&C Acts as the Architect-of Record or Alternate to the Architect-of Record for the project when so designated
by the Manager, staff, external consultants and other project participants. In this position, s/he develops
code information and alternative strategies to meet code requirements. Associate Architect also develops
equipment and furniture information, building deign including detailed departmental and room layouts, details
and construction documentation including specifications.
Planner, Medical Facility (24093BR) - The Planner, Medical Center Facilities works under the supervision and general
direction of the Director of Architecture and Planning (Director A&P) to provide planning services for the
Medical Center facilities. The purpose of the position is to develop and manage long-range master plans,
implement schedules, and capital requirements for the Medical Center’s three campuses and satellite facilities.
In addition, the position is responsible for programming space requirements for approved capital projects.
The position is intended to support the on-going planning activities of the Strategic Planning Division,
Senior Leadership and the Capital Improvement Committee and the annual capital planning process by defining
options and alternative long and short range facility planning options and graphic documentation.
Architectural Associate (28951BR) - Architectural Associate works under the supervision and general direction
of the Manager of Architecture ("Manager"). Primary duty of the Architectural Associate is to provide
support to the Architecture Division staff in design and documentation activities for Medical Center capital
construction projects.
